Wednesday, December 18th - Christmas Lights Photo Walk at the Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell.
Wednesday, December 4th - Christmas Party and Equipment Swap.
Wednesday, November 20th - Super Resolution Shooting. This will be a discussion of how to achieve very high resolution images with lower resolution cameras.
Wednesday, November 6th - Still Life/Light Painting. This will be an opportunity to experiment with your camera and lights in a studio type environment. We will try light painting a several different still life setups so bring you camera and speedlight and/or flashlight.
Wednesday, October 30th - Field Trip - L&L Classic Auto in Wendell, Idaho.
L&L Classic Auto is a junk yard that specializes in classic cars and has acres of cars in various states of disrepair. It provides a great opportunity for photography. Wednesday, October 16th 7:00 pm Milky Way Images Post Processing - Panel. Since we have had members successfully capturing images of the Milky Way we will be offering a panel discussion on the various methods of post processing these images.
Bring your milky way images before and after to discuss. If you would like us to work on you image bring your raw image.
Wednesday, October 2nd 7:00 pm Before and After Post Processing - this will be an opportunity for you to bring 2 sets of images: the actual capture (Straight Out of Camera -SOOC) and the final post processed image and talk about your post processing workflow and/or ask questions about post processing issues that you are having with these two images. You do not need to be able to show the post processing in your software. The objective with this session is to expose people to the various possibilities with post processing.
Wednesday, September 18th 7:00 pm - Western Idaho Fair Contestants Photo Display. We will be encouraging all the members that submitted images for the Western Idaho Fair Photography Exhibit to bring their photos to this meeting and talk about their images. You can either bring your prints or digital images and give us a little bit of the story behind your images.
Wednesday, September 4th 7:00 pm - Panoramas - Allen Baxter. Panoramas are not just for landscapes. We will explore the various uses of panoramas and how to create them.
Wednesday, August 21st 7:00 pm - Milky Way Photography - Bill Betts. Weather permitting we still have several great opportunities to photograph the milky way in the southern skies during August (27th - 31st) and September (26th - 30th). So this a great opportunity to come and learn the basics techniques for capturing the milky way.
Wednesday, August 7th 7:00 pm - Long Exposure Photography - Harold Hall. Harold will present an overview of the making of images with longer than normal exposure times and share some of his remarkable images that he has made with this technique.
Wednesday, July 31st 7:00 pm Photo Walk - Celebration Park on the Snake River. Leader - Allen Baxter. This is a great location that has many photographic opportunities: Guffey Railroad bridge, Petroglyphs, and the Snake River with tall buttes in the background and a great place to shoot a sunset. Car pooling opportunities: meet at the Park and Ride lot at 2995 W Overland Rd, Meridian, ID 83642 at 6:15 pm. I will be driving my Suburban and take can take several people. I will depart the parking lot at 6:15pm. Otherwise just meet at the park.
Wednesday, July 24th 7:00 pm - Western Idaho Fair Image Critique - If you would like help with your submission for the fair photography competition then this meeting is for you. Bring your images that you are thinking of submitting and we will critique them to help you get prepared.
Wednesday, July 3rd 7:00 pm Western Idaho Fair ( WIF) Photography Competition Program and Rules Review. Paul Pulley WIF Photography Superintendent will be present. The purpose of this meeting is to review the program details of the WIF Photo Competition to better help you get prepared for this upcoming event the week of August 16-25th. Images will have to be submitted on Monday and Tuesday August 12th and 13th respectively. A link to the Photography Competition Rules for the fair. Please note that this meeting will take place in the main sanctuary of the church which is in the building adjacent to where we normally meet. The church has an activity scheduled at the same time.
Wednesday, June 26th 7:00 pm Printing - Craig Collett, Roots Family History. With the Western Idaho Fair approaching and the need to print and mount your images Craig will be talking about the printing process and how to prepare your images for printing to get the best possible results.
Wednesday, June 12th 7:00 pm Photo Walk - Kathryn Albertson Park - this walk will focus on flash photography and will take some of what we talked about at our May 15th meeting and put it into practice.So bring your flash and we will have so fun playing. We will meet in the parking lot.

Wednesday, May 22 7:00 pm - Photo Critique Development - we invite members that are interested in the critique process to come to this meeting to learn more about the process and help us refine it to better help you as photographers improve your skills. This particular meeting will not be a regular critique meeting.
Wednesday, May 15th 7:00 pm Flash Photography Hands On Workshop- Allen Baxter. This will be a lecture/hands on workshop and introduce you to flash photography and some of the simple light modifiers available for your flash. Bring your camera and flash.

Wednesday, April 10th 7:00pm – Photo Walk. Indian Creek Plaza, Caldwell. We will explore the renovated area around downtown Caldwell around the Indian Creek Plaza: M886+FR Caldwell, Idaho (the green highlight is a Google Maps plus code. Copy and paste into map to see the location on the map). There is ample parking surrounding the plaza and adjacent to the Caldwell train depot. 3/6/2019 -7:00 - 9:00 Before and After - The power of post processing.
The presentations will be made by a panel of members to illustrate various techniques and styles. The objective of this session is to expose members to the versatility of post processing and show them that not all images come out of the camera looking like the final product. The intent is not to necessarily spend a bulk of the time specifically walking through the exact steps of post processing, but to discuss and/or show the step taken to achieve the final results. This is not intended to be a software instructional class, but some demonstration will take place.

Jordan is a local photographer and is an accomplished astrophotographer. This will be a great opportunity to learn about astrophotography. 2/13/19 - 7:00 - 9:00 Mirror-less Camera Workshop - this will be a panel discussion about mirror-less cameras. The great thing about this is that it will have folks that have the various formats and brands of cameras so it is a great time to learn about the various models. Our panel will be:
- Fujifilm: Jim Peterson, Dave Lindsey and Allen Baxter
- Sony: Harold Hall, Bill Betts, Kathleed Reed
- Olympus: Dave Fujii
- Panasonic: John McVey and Mike Thill
This will be a dual session. We will have a session to critique submitted images and then do a member image display slideshow.
- This will be a session to have your images critiqued. Our leader will be Ernie Shook.
- Submit up to 5 images for critique prior to January 1st to the club email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
- This will be our normal image display with no critique, but we will expand the number of images to display so that you can showcase some of your work.
- Bring up to 15 images for the slideshow.
- 1920 pixels long edge (the short edge dimension is unimportant)
- JPG at 100% quality
- sRGB color space
- 72 ppi (this doesn't really matter, but Lightroom and some other software requires a number, so use this)
- Resizing images to the above parameters will automatically keep the file size well within range for quick viewing.
