June 6th Meeting - Member Image Critique and Image Display. Our entire meeting will be dedicated to displaying images.
The Quarterly Critique/Display theme is Cityscape/Geometric/Architecture and our Routine Monthly theme is Monochrome. So if you have any images you would like to display in these categories please bring them; otherwise, bring other images.
Similar to our previous session like this we will have two separate sessions: 1) offer members the opportunity to have images of their selection critiqued by a panel and 2) general image display
Critique – bring up to 5 images of your selection to have critiqued by a panel.
Display – bring up to 15 images for display.
Please separate your images into separate folders on your memory stick: Critique and Display so that when we load them onto the laptop we can separate them.
Please resize your images per he below:
• 1920 pixels long edge (the short edge dimension is unimportant)
• JPG at 100% quality
• sRGB color space
• 72 ppi (this doesn't really matter, but Lightroom and some other software requires a number, so use this)
- Resizing images to the above parameters will automatically keep the file size well within range for quick viewing. If you are not sure how to do this we will do it for you.
June 20th Meeting - Photo Walk.
The church is not available this week and we will have a photo walk to practice our photography.
Meeting Place: parking lot of Frontier Tire, 614 N Main St, Meridian, ID 83642. (this business is closed and has ample parking)

Theme: photo walk anything goes.
July 18th Meeting - Western Idaho Fair Photo Contest - Pre Judging .
If you are contemplating entering the Western Idaho Fair Photography Contest then our Wednesday, July 18th meeting will be of particular interest. It is not too early to start getting prepared. We will be critiquing your potential entries to help you get prepared. Bring either prints or digital images to be critiqued. Bring several images if you are not sure which one to submit. Our goal of this session is to help you get the best possible results in the photo contest.
Paul Pulley, the WIF Photography Superintendent will be on hand to help with the critique process. Club members have enjoyed considerable success in this contest so this meeting is a great opportunity to get some help with your preparation.
In past years the category of B&W has had very few images submitted at the fair so if you have some good B&W images consider submitting in the appropriate Monochrome classes.
Attached please find the 2018 WIF Photography Dept guidelines for this year’s contest.
